Universal Pictures has announced that Cocomelon: The Movie, a CG-animated film inspired by the popular children’s series, will premiere in theaters in February 2027.
The film is a collaboration between Moonbug Entertainment, Flywheel Media, Prime Focus Studios, and DreamWorks Animation, with animation handled by the DNEG Group.
Cocomelon is a children’s series focused on teaching life skills through music. The new movie follows the main character, JJ, and his friends on an exciting new journey.
Cocomelon began streaming on Netflix in 2020, consistently drawing young viewers, and will officially launch on Disney+ in 2027.
The collaboration with Universal and DreamWorks for the big-screen adaptation was announced in May. Flywheel Media and Prime Focus Studios are also working on The Angry Birds Movie 3 for Paramount, which is set for release on December 23, 2026.
