Mike Tullberg, the current FC Midtjylland coach and former Borussia Dortmund staff member, addressed Bayern Munich's reported interest in striker Franculino. Bayern, the German champions, were linked with Franculino during the summer transfer window, and recent reports from Denmark indicated that a Bayern scout attended Midtjylland’s 1-1 draw with AGF in the Danish Superliga.
Despite Bayern's ongoing interest, Tullberg is sure that Franculino will remain at Midtjylland for at least the rest of the season. Reflecting on his stance, Tullberg said after the game:
“Of course I expect him to stay. I’ve told the club that I want my players to stay, so I don’t anticipate anyone leaving.”
When asked directly about Bayern's pursuit of Franculino, Tullberg responded jokingly:
“No FCM players will be moving to FC Bayern. If they’re leaving, it will be for Dortmund.”
Franculino has been in excellent form this season, scoring 17 goals in 24 matches.
Mike Tullberg firmly believes that Franculino will stay at FC Midtjylland this season despite interest from Bayern Munich.
