Livinia Nixon to Sign Off From 9News Weather

After 20 years as Melbourne’s most beloved weather presenter, Livinia Nixon has announced she will be stepping down from her role on 9News Melbourne. Having joined the Nine Network in 1997 and taken on the weather presenter position in 2004, Livinia is choosing to focus more on her family as her sons enter their senior schooling years.

Her final weather broadcast will be on Tuesday, 18 November. Although she is refocusing her schedule to support her family more, Livinia will remain with Nine and continue her work as a presenter on the popular travel shows Getaway and Postcards.

“After 20 years presenting weather on 9News, I’ve decided to step back from this role. My sons will both be in high school and I want to be there to support them. It’s been a privilege to be welcomed into viewers’ homes for so long, but this is the right time for my family. Presenting the weather has shaped my life and career. I owe this role everything but this is the right decision for me. When I discussed it with our boys, they said ‘we’re pretty excited to spend more time with you, Mum.’ I’m thrilled to be staying with Nine and will be continuing my roles on Getaway and Postcards.”
