During a press conference in the Oval Office on Thursday, a man fainted while President Donald Trump was announcing a deal with drugmakers to reduce the cost of obesity drugs. The incident was captured on video and quickly circulated online.
Independent journalist Eric Daugherty shared the video, commenting,
“A man just passed out during President Trump’s Oval Office announcement. Oz SPRUNG into action and assisted him.”He also urged viewers to
“Pray for him.”Many people expressed concern and sent their prayers as the live feed was cut short.
The fainting man was initially identified by some as Gordon Findlay, claimed to be a Novo Nordisk executive. One social media post stated,
“BREAKING: Novo Nordisk executive Gordon Findlay collapses during Trump's announcement in Oval Office, announcement suspended.”
However, Novo Nordisk clarified that the man was not affiliated with their company. They confirmed that only CEO Mike Doustdar and EVP of US Operations Dave Moore were present at the event. The company expressed concern for the individual involved:
“CEO Mike Doustdar and EVP, US Operations, Dave Moore were the only two Novo Nordisk representatives in the Oval Office. We hope the gentleman who suffered a medical incident today is okay.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt added,
“During the Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement, a representative with one of the companies fainted.”
The exact identity and condition of the fainting man remain unconfirmed beyond these clarifications.
The reported fainting incident in the Oval Office sparked confusion, with initial misidentifications cleared up by official statements from Novo Nordisk and the White House.
