Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed that Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film What Happens at Night, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is scheduled to begin filming in 2026.
The actress shared her excitement about reuniting with DiCaprio, with whom she previously worked on Don’t Look Up. The new project marks Scorsese’s 27th feature film.
The story follows an American couple traveling to a snow-covered European city to adopt a baby, only to find themselves in a series of peculiar and unsettling situations. The film is based on Peter Cameron’s 2020 novel of the same name.
“Nothing is as it seems in this baffling, frozen world, and the more the couple struggles to claim their baby, the less they seem to know about their marriage, themselves, and life itself.”
The book’s synopsis mentions a colorful cast of characters, including “an ancient, flamboyant chanteuse, a debauched businessman, and an enigmatic faith healer.”
Aside from the confirmed leads, no additional cast members have been announced. Lawrence provided a brief update on the filming timeline.
“Hopefully, a January/February situation. But one never knows with these things. I’ll believe it when I’m there.”
Her remarks were shared during an interview with IndieWire, adding anticipation for what could become another high-profile collaboration between Scorsese, DiCaprio, and Lawrence.
