In a significant development for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gérald Caussé has been appointed as the newest apostle, marking an important milestone in the church’s leadership. His appointment brings fresh perspectives to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, highlighting his expertise in both faith and finance.
Born in Bordeaux, France, Gérald Caussé currently serves as the church’s 15th presiding bishop and is the third presiding bishop born outside the United States. Since October 2015, he has managed the church’s real estate, financial, investment, and humanitarian operations.
His French background adds diversity to the leadership, which also includes two European apostles: Dieter F. Uchtdorf of Germany and Patrick Kearon of Britain.
