Although Google’s Stadia has faded away, cloud gaming continues to evolve, and Sony is advancing its position with the PlayStation Portal handheld device. Unlike the Steam Deck, the PlayStation Portal depends entirely on streaming from a PlayStation 5 console, as it cannot run games natively.
Starting today, PlayStation Portal users can stream a selection of digital PS5 games from their own libraries without needing to connect directly to a PS5 via Remote Play. Additionally, a catalog of PlayStation titles is accessible through cloud streaming as part of the PlayStation Plus subscription.
