Alex Scott has received his first call-up to the England senior squad. The midfielder earned this opportunity thanks to his impressive performances for Bournemouth.
Scott has been selected for the Three Lions' final World Cup Qualifiers matches against Serbia and Albania. Notably, he might face Bournemouth teammates Djordje Petrovic and Veljko Milosavljevic, who play for Serbia.
“He had an excellent EUROs. He won the title and Lee was full of praise. He did an excellent job in midfield together with Elliot Anderson who is now a regular starter for us,” said Thomas Tuchel.
“It was very impressive but then he took another step and becomes a very regular starter now for Bournemouth and they are in the top third of the league. They are overperforming constantly. He puts intensity in and he gets his minutes, so we thought this is maybe the perfect time to reward him and to get to know him and to see what he can bring to our team.”
Scott has featured in all but one of Bournemouth's games this season and scored a standout goal against Brighton. Alongside Tyler Adams, he has been vital in placing Bournemouth fifth in the Premier League after ten matches.
