Starbucks apologized after its limited-edition bear-shaped "Bearista" cup quickly sold out, causing disappointment among fans due to the small supply.
The 20-ounce glass cup features a teddy bear wearing a green Starbucks beanie and holding a plastic Starbucks cup. A green-and-white straw emerges from the bear's cap, making it an adorable collectible.
“Who’s getting a bearista cup on 11/6 lmk,” Starbucks asked on Instagram before the release, sharing an image of the translucent bear-shaped cup.
The cups became available on November 6, but very few fans managed to buy one due to limited quantities. Social media users quickly voiced frustration over the scarcity.
“Petition for a re-release of the bear cup,” one fan urged on Starbucks' follow-up post.
Another user commented, “I think I have a better chance at winning the lottery than obtaining this cute bear cup.”
Many noted their local Starbucks locations received only one or two Bearista cups in total, making it difficult for eager customers to purchase.
The viral success of Starbucks' Bearista cup revealed fans' enthusiasm but also highlighted frustration caused by its extremely limited availability.
