Netflix released the first five minutes of the final season of Stranger Things ahead of its staggered November launch. This clip revisits the series’ nostalgic roots by taking viewers back to November 1983, the setting of the first season.
In the opening scene, a CGI-de-aged Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) is terrorized by the Demogorgon. Despite the fear, the monster unexpectedly calms Will with a rendition of The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go.”
The Demogorgon demonstrates surprises, shrugging off a direct shot to the face and, notably, showing its ability to climb trees. After leaping between branches, Will falls to the ground and loses consciousness.
While Will is unconscious, the Demogorgon drags his limp body to Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower). Vecna’s ominous presence lingers behind the scenes, manipulating events from the shadows.
"Here, we see Will Byers (Noah Schnapp)—poor, bowl-cut, CGI-de-aged Will—being terrorized by the Demogorgon."
"The Demogorgon, news to everyone, including the abject horror of Will, can also climb trees."
"Looming in the shadows, moving chess pieces and whatnot."
This opening segment captures the eerie tension and supernatural atmosphere that fans have come to expect.
This preview blends nostalgia with suspense, setting the stage for the final season’s dark and mysterious conflicts.
