Filmmaker Yi Zhou has accused Jeremy Renner, the 54-year-old Marvel star known for portraying Hawkeye, of inappropriate behavior. Zhou alleges that Renner sent her unsolicited explicit photos starting in June 2024 and later threatened to have her deported.
Zhou revealed that Renner initiated contact by sending personal and intimate images without her consent. Upon confronting him about this misconduct, Renner reportedly responded with threats to involve immigration authorities (ICE) against her.
“It is with deep regret, sadness, and disappointment that I am compelled to share a truth I have been holding inside for too long,” Zhou stated. “Mr Renner first contacted me directly in June, sending personal and intimate photographs of himself, behavior that, according to public reports, he has exhibited before.”
Regarding the threats, Zhou added, “When I called him out privately about his past misconduct and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call immigration/ICE on me, an act that deeply shocked and frightened me.”
She emphasized that no woman, filmmaker, or creative person should endure such emotional and psychological pressure while defending their reputation and the integrity of their work.
