US Marshals Arrest Convicted Sex Offender After Decade-Long Manhunt in Lexington
The US Marshals Fugitive Task Force apprehended Gerald Lamont Martin, a convicted sex offender, early Friday morning in Lexington after more than ten years on the run.
Martin, 36, was found at an apartment complex in Lexington. He had been a fugitive since 2014, evading law enforcement for 11 years.
He was taken to the Fayette County Detention Center based on two active warrants:
- Failure to comply with sex offender registration (second offense), issued November 17, 2014
- Probation violation for a felony offense, issued in December
“The arrest marks the end of an 11-year manhunt for Martin, who had successfully avoided capture since the warrants were issued.”
This long pursuit underscores the persistence of authorities in bringing fugitives to justice and ensuring public safety.
