The Ogun State Police Command arrested two Cameroonian nationals connected to a well-known kidnapping syndicate involved in deceiving victims with false promises of foreign visa assistance.
Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Omolola Odutola reported that on Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m., the Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Eleweran responded to a distress call from a Cameroonian woman. She explained how she was tricked into traveling to Nigeria by a fellow Cameroonian named Donald, who promised help in obtaining a Canadian visa.
The victim arrived at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos on September 29, 2025, and was picked up by the supposed agency. She was taken to Mowe, Ogun State, where she and her 23-year-old sister were held captive.
On November 3, the victim managed to escape and contacted the police, revealing the location where more victims were confined—a two-bedroom apartment in the Pakuro area of Ogun State.
“On November 3, the victim escaped from captivity and alerted the police, revealing that more victims were being held in a two-bedroom apartment in the Pakuro area of Ogun State,”CSP Odutola stated.
Authorities continue investigations into the syndicate’s activities.
Summary: Two Cameroonian suspects were detained by Ogun State police for involvement in kidnapping under the pretense of visa processing, while the main suspect is still evading capture.
