MSNBC, the network hosting Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes, Nicolle Wallace, and Joe Scarborough, is preparing to change its name to MS NOW, which stands for "My Source News Opinion World."
On Tuesday, November 5, MSNBC released two 60-second advertisements promoting the upcoming change. The official switch to MS NOW will take place on Saturday, November 9, coinciding with the network's Election Day coverage.
The network anticipates increased viewer interest during coverage of major races, including the New York City mayoral election and the gubernatorial contests in New Jersey and Virginia.
"We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike."
This line is repeated three times in the ad.
The $20 million campaign aims to make the MS NOW brand memorable for viewers, according to The New York Times.
A third ad yet to be released will feature actor Martin Sheen, famous for his role as President Jed Bartlet in the political drama "The West Wing."
The rebranding to MS NOW is supported by a significant ad campaign tied to Election Day, blending history and unity themes to engage viewers.
