Two councillors from Moray have been recognised with top honours at this year’s Local Government Information Unit (LGIU) and CCLA Councillor Awards, the only UK-wide ceremony celebrating the achievements of local councillors.
Council Leader Kathleen Robertson received the title of Leader of the Year, while Councillor Marc Macrae, representing Fochabers and Lhanbryde, was named Innovator of the Year. Both were acknowledged for their exceptional contributions and commitment to their communities.

Also in attendance at the awards was Councillor Amber Dunbar, one of only four shortlisted nominees for the Young Councillor of the Year category. Her involvement further underscored Moray’s strong representation at the national level.
