Dominic Connelly, 24, is accused of killing his grandmother and setting her house on fire. He also allegedly stabbed a Craven County deputy.
The search for Connelly remains ongoing. He is believed to be traveling on foot, likely heading north while using woods and fields to evade capture, according to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.
Local, state, and federal authorities are coordinating air and ground units to locate Connelly. Investigators reported that he was spotted on a trail camera near 10000 U.S. 17 Highway in Vanceboro, close to the Craven-Beaufort county line.
Residents are urged to review any surveillance footage or trail camera recordings for sightings of the suspect.
“We will not stop,” Craven County Sheriff Corporal Kelly Cox stated on Thursday, addressing Connelly directly.
