After capturing the Brave CF flyweight championship, Muhammad Mokaev has already turned his attention to new goals. The fighter hinted at a potential move to the bantamweight division in pursuit of becoming a two-weight world champion.
Mokaev achieved a second-round stoppage against Gerard Burns at Brave 100 in Bahrain. His future plans partially hinged on the outcome of the event’s main bout between his teammate, Hamza Kooheji, and bantamweight titleholder Borislav Nikolic.
When Kooheji fell short against Nikolic, Mokaev entered the cage following the fight. The two champions exchanged an intense stare, teasing a possible showdown between divisions.
“I will go to Mohammed Shahid’s office tomorrow and tell him, ‘Pay the man so he can take care of his family. I respect what he said, he’s a humble guy,’” Mokaev told Bloody Elbow after the face-off.
Mokaev’s determination to claim a second belt signals his readiness for a high-stakes challenge. His rivalry with Nikolic could become one of the promotion’s most anticipated matchups.
