Aussie Olympic swimming legend Ariarne Titmus recently announced a significant change in her personal life following her retirement from competitive swimming at the age of 25.
Titmus has relocated to Melbourne to be with her partner Mac Powell, an investment analyst. She described this move as a fresh start:
“It's just happened this week, new beginnings, a fresh start, a new chapter,”
She added that living with Mac marks an exciting new chapter despite the difficulty of leaving Queensland. Melbourne also holds personal ties, as she has family and friends there, including those who have moved from Tasmania.
Titmus expressed satisfaction with her decision to retire from swimming, enjoying a more typical daily routine. She values simple pleasures like cooking dinner and sharing a glass of wine with loved ones.
Referring to her retirement choice, she said:
“It took me a while to make the decision...and I've definitely made the right one.”
She also mentioned leaving behind early mornings associated with training, implying relief at no longer needing to wake up early for swim sessions.
Ariarne Titmus has begun a new chapter away from competitive swimming, focusing on her relationship and enjoying a balanced, normal lifestyle in Melbourne.
