A destructive tornado struck Rio Bonito do Iguacu, a town of 14,000 in Parana state, southern Brazil, causing severe damage and casualties.
“What will become of us?” said Roselei Dalcandon, standing beside the rubble of her former shop.
The Parana state government confirmed that at least six people lost their lives, and more than 700 were injured. Among the deceased were five adults and a 14-year-old girl. One person remains missing.
