Walker ready to move out of comfort zone and make his mark on DP World Tour

Familiarity often breeds a sense of contentment. For Euan Walker, life on the HotelPlanner Tour had become second nature, almost effortless — as if he could compete in slippers and a hoodie.

“I knew what I was playing in, I knew all the courses, the airports, hotels and how I would get there,”

said the Barassie golfer, reflecting on his four-year spell on the second tier of European golf.

He admitted that comfort can settle in, but emphasized his ongoing drive to move forward and take the next step in his career.

“So, yes, you do get comfortable. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t want to progress.”

Promotion to the main stage

After years of near misses, Walker finally secured promotion to the DP World Tour through the HotelPlanner Tour rankings. The achievement marked the culmination of steady effort and perseverance.

No longer revisiting familiar venues, the 30-year-old now prepares to embrace new challenges and fresh experiences as part of the top-tier circuit.

“I’m trying to get my head round the fact that I’m not going back to the same places and, instead, I’m planning for a new life on the main tour,”

Walker remarked, acknowledging the shift in his career direction.

Prepared for the next level

Having proven himself with solid performances on the HotelPlanner Tour, Walker enters the DP World Tour well-prepared. Though his 2025 season lacked a tournament win, consistency and steady improvement brought him the ultimate reward — promotion. His record includes two victories in 2022 and 2024, alongside fellow Scots Daniel Young and David Law, who also advanced this season.
