Delta cares for customers, reduces flights in compliance with FAA directive

Delta Complies with FAA Directive, Reduces Flights

Delta is following a directive from the FAA and the U.S. Department of Transportation to reduce flights at 40 major U.S. airports. The airline continues to comply with the FAA's requirements, limiting operations at these locations.

All planned FAA-directed flight cancellations are in effect through Tuesday, November 11. Due to ongoing Air Traffic Control staffing shortages and resulting delay programs, further delays and cancellations are expected on Sunday.

Additional pressure late Saturday affected Delta’s operational start-up on Sunday, resulting in more than 320 mainline and 150 Delta Connection cancellations on November 10.

Key Details for Customers

Canceling a flight is always a last resort after all options have been exhausted.

Summary

Delta prioritizes safety and customer care while complying with FAA directives, resulting in flight reductions and cancellations due to staffing shortages and weather disruptions.
