A college spokesperson reported that a transformer on Harrisburg Pike failed early Saturday, leading to widespread outages. Most residence halls operated on emergency generators through the weekend, except for Roschel College House. Its residents were temporarily relocated to alternate housing on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Several key buildings, including Shadek-Fackenthal Library and Martin Library, remained closed through Sunday as repair crews worked to restore power. Other facilities also experienced closures due to the outage.

“We apologize for the continued disruption and the inconvenience this has caused,” said Peter Durantine, director of media relations at Franklin & Marshall. “Please know that our teams are working around the clock, along with PPL Electric, to complete repairs and restore normal operations as soon as possible.”

Durantine added that restoration efforts would continue into Monday and that all faculty and staff were advised to work remotely where feasible.
