Environment Canada has released a snowfall warning covering Ottawa North, Kanata, and Orléans, forecasting between 10 and 20 centimeters of snow throughout the day.
The warning was posted on November 9, 2025, at 10:39 a.m., with the latest update issued on November 10, 2025, at 11:29 a.m. This marks the first significant snowfall of the season for the region.
The Ottawa Police Service posted a notice on X, urging drivers to be cautious if travel is necessary during the storm.
“If you must be out on the roads, please drive carefully,” advised the Ottawa Police Service.
Later that evening, the Ontario Provincial Police reported on X that detachments across eastern Ontario had responded to over 120 collisions between noon and 4 p.m. Most accidents involved vehicles sliding off roads, though no fatalities were reported.
“No fatalities have been reported; most incidents involved vehicles losing traction on snowy roads,” stated the Ontario Provincial Police.
