Houston experienced a dramatic weather shift over the weekend, moving from near record-breaking warmth to chilly conditions. On Saturday, temperatures nearly reached 90 degrees, close to setting a November record.
However, this warmth was quickly replaced by a cold front on Sunday, dropping the high temperature to around 70 degrees with gusts possibly reaching 30 mph. A second cold front arriving late Sunday night could bring temperatures down to the 30s near Houston.
According to the Houston Chronicle, "the city nearly hit a steamy 90 degrees on Saturday, flirting with the possibility of setting a new record for November."
The National Weather Service noted that Monday began with temperatures just above 40 degrees, though areas north of Interstate 10 may have seen lows in the upper 30s. This early cold snap is significant, marking temperatures not seen since late February.
Houston’s weekend weather swung sharply from near-record warmth to early-season frost, highlighting the city’s volatile climate patterns as cold fronts move through.
