Schools in certain parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will observe holidays on November 6, 2025, due to regional events and elections.
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that all schools in the Anupshahr area of Bulandshahr district will remain closed from November 3 to November 6, 2025. The decision comes in connection with the Lakkhi Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan Mela, a major local fair attracting large crowds.
"All schools in the Anupshahr area will stay closed from November 3 to 6, 2025, for the Lakkhi Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan Mela to ensure student safety and ease of movement," stated the Basic Education Officer of Bulandshahr.
The holiday applies to both government and private schools within Anupshahr town. Other educational institutions in Bulandshahr district will continue normal operations.
In Bihar, the government has ordered temporary closure of schools and colleges across 17 districts on November 6, 2025. This measure supports the smooth conduct of the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections, allowing citizens, teachers, and students to participate in civic duties without disruption.
Both decisions were made to prioritize public safety, reduce congestion during events, and permit communities to engage in cultural and democratic activities in a peaceful environment.
