The Cat and the Dragon Anime Scheduled for July 2026 Premiere
The fantasy anime The Cat and the Dragon (Neko to Ryu) has unveiled a teaser trailer and a teaser visual, announcing a premiere set for July 2026. Takehito Koyasu voices Nekoryu, a dragon raised by a cat.

Source Material
The anime is adapted from the light novel series by Amara, illustrated by Mai Okuma. It began publishing in 2017 under the Takarajimasha Bunko label. The ninth volume is scheduled for release on November 26, 2025, JST.
The story originally began as a short story on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2013. Additionally, a manga adaptation by Izumi Sasaki is available.
