The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is enhancing Black Friday fishing by releasing nearly 65,000 jumbo rainbow trout across 25 lakes throughout the state this Thanksgiving weekend. This seasonal event provides a chance for anglers to enjoy outdoor activities with friends and family in local communities.
To participate, anglers aged 16 and older must hold a valid Washington freshwater fishing license, effective through March 31, 2026. For specific lake information and water quality updates, anglers are advised to check the WDFW’s official site or their county health department.
