Allegations Against Elderly Coach
Police have charged an 87-year-old man from Burpengary with several historical child sexual offences. The man, described by authorities as a “well-known” local sports coach, allegedly used his authority to exploit children over several years.

Queensland Police stated that the alleged offences occurred between the 1970s and 1990s while the man was coaching youth sporting teams in the Moreton Bay region. Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sexual Crime Group led the investigation after multiple victims came forward.
"These charges follow a comprehensive investigation into allegations of long-term abuse of children within community sporting environments," said a police spokesperson.
The man now faces nine counts of indecent treatment of children under 16. He was granted bail and is expected to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court in December.
