Kentucky Officials Issue Antler Alert

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is reminding drivers to stay safe on the roads this fall season due to increased deer activity.

According to officials, the last three months of the year see nearly half of all wildlife collisions, with November being the highest month for deer-related crashes, totaling over 700 incidents.

"We see deer-related crashes rise sharply this time of year," said state highway engineer James Ballinger. "Drivers should be extra alert, especially at dawn and dusk, and slow down in areas where deer are likely to cross. A moment of caution can prevent a serious crash."

Officials encourage drivers to stay alert for wildlife during the annual Antler Alert.
