Naval Academy Dropout Indicted Over Threat
A former U.S. Naval Academy midshipman, Jackson Fleming, 23, has been indicted for threatening a "mass execution" of his former classmates on a social app.
The threat led to a school-wide lockdown, during which a police officer accidentally shot a current student in a chaotic scuffle.
- Jackson Fleming dropped out of the Naval Academy in 2024.
- The indictment was made by a federal grand jury on October 8.
- The charge is for "interstate communications with a threat to injure" against the Annapolis, Maryland school.
Fleming posted on September 11 on the social app Jodel that he would be "carrying out the mass execution of my peers in a couple.
