Aiden Fisher Leads IU Football to Historic Victory
At Memorial Stadium, a board lists every Indiana football captain since Harry Wise in 1887. However, under head coach Curt Cignetti, the team doesn't have official captains. Instead, four players, including senior linebacker Aiden Fisher, represent the team for the coin toss each week.
Fisher, a 2024 first-team All-American, played a crucial role in the team's 30-20 win against No. Oregon. He made the call for the coin toss and chose heads, getting it right. Fisher then went on to tally a season-high 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
As the lone defensive player able to hear defensive coordinator Bryant Haines on the field, Fisher is entrusted by his teammates to relay the signals before plays.
