A couple from Stoke-by-Clare has expressed joy after a £60 parking fine received in Ipswich's Cardinal Park was withdrawn.
Paulo Lopes and his partner John Holles visited the car park, run by Euro Car Parks, to watch a film at Cineworld in July.
According to Mr. Holles, when Mr. Lopes attempted to pay for parking, the machine displayed a message stating "payments for parking aren’t required at this time", preventing him from making a payment.
"It wasn't the £60 fine, it was the principle. It's not so much that I don't want to spend the money, I just don't want companies like this to receive it."
The couple was initially shocked to receive a parking charge notice, but are now relieved that the fine has been withdrawn.
