Indian Motorcycle will be sold to California-based Carolwood LP, a private equity firm, as announced by Polaris Industries on Monday.
According to KUOO Radio, the deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
Polaris is confident in Indian Motorcycle’s future success under Carolwood ownership and will maintain a small equity position in the business after the transaction closes.
About 900 employees will transition as part of the new Indian Motorcycle Company at its manufacturing facilities in Spirit Lake and Monticello, Minnesota, including a design and technology center in Switzerland.
Indian Motorcycle said the company will retain the majority of its team.
