The Court of Appeal has allowed a lawyer to proceed with a harassment claim against his former law firm.
A lawyer, Jackson Yamba, who worked for BW Legal until 2020, had his claim initially struck out, but the Court of Appeal has given him the green light to challenge this decision.
Lord Justice Birss noted that Mr Yamba qualified "in effect" as a barrister/solicitor in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is now a regulated foreign lawyer under the Solicitors Regulation Authority's supervision.
The court dismissed an appeal by BW Legal, allowing Mr Yamba to replead his claim before the appeal against the strike-out is heard.
