Police Arrests Syndicate Behind Fake Food Delivery Websites

The Ghana Police Service has arrested ten individuals accused of running a sophisticated online fraud scheme that posed as legitimate food delivery services to extort money from unsuspecting customers.

According to the Criminal Investigation Department’s (CID) Cybercrime Unit, the arrests were the result of weeks of intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling cyber fraud networks preying on the public.

Arrests and Investigations

The first group of six suspects were picked up in Sogakope, Volta Region, on October 1, 2025. The suspects include:

Investigations uncovered that the group had created fake websites and social media pages pretending to represent top Ghanaian and international fast-food brands such as Papaye, Pizzaman, KFC, and Mawarko.

No comment from the suspects or the affected companies has been released.
