Update on Free NHS Prescriptions
Several groups in England are eligible for free NHS prescriptions.
The Government has updated the eligibility criteria for free NHS prescriptions.
Current Eligibility Criteria
- Residents in England can receive free prescriptions at 60 or older
- Those under 16
- Those between 16 and 18 and in full-time education
Free National Health Service prescriptions and NHS-funded sight tests are available for many.
Labour health minister Zubir Ahmed delivered the Government's response to a written parliamentary question by Liberal Democrat MP Vikki Slade.
