Helena Moreno to be Next Mayor of New Orleans
City Councilmember Helena Moreno has won the Oct. 11 primary election, securing 55% of the vote.
Moreno's victory gives her a strong mandate when she enters office in January, allowing her to assemble a team and prepare to lead the city.
"The work starts tomorrow morning,"
Moreno said, noting that she would focus on preparing a city budget to achieve her vision.
