The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to a new contract extension with Lane Hutson, ahead of their home opener against the Seattle Kraken.
According to Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, the contract signed by Connor McDavid in Edmonton influenced not only Hutson but also Canadiens management to stick with their plan and salary structure.
Pierre LeBrun told Gino Reda on TSN's That's Hockey: "it was the contract signed by Connor McDavid that really influenced not only Hutson, but also Canadiens management in sticking with their plan and salary structure to keep the team competitive moving forward."
Gino Reda noted that the contract seems to be "team-friendly" despite being big money.
