Why I Still Love Newspapers
I am a week late to this topic because I wanted to share my experiences of being in Iraq 20 years ago with the brave men and women of Georgia's 48th Brigade Combat Team.
Last week was National Newspaper Week, which is personal to me for different reasons. I have the best job in the world, getting to share my thoughts with you each week.
Over almost three decades, I have made good friends with readers I hear from regularly, despite never meeting face-to-face. You have been with me through good times and bad, chiding me when needed.
As one reader once said,
an error of fact or an incorrect number will get me enough mail to know, yes, you do read my column.
