A 34-year-old Hamptons man, Dennis Carrol, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for possessing approximately two kilograms of fentanyl.
According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, the fentanyl had an estimated street value of $80,000 and was transported from Suffolk County into Hollis in November 2022.
Carrol was convicted by a jury in Queens Supreme Court on March 24 of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, following a four-week trial.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced the sentencing on Wednesday.
