A Mount Pleasant neighborhood is urging the Town Council to install speed humps on Mossy Branch Way, a road with a history of speeding concerns.
Residents of the Oaks at Marsh View have been requesting speed humps for nearly four years, citing the road's use as a "cut-through" street between Rifle Range Road and Ben Sawyer Boulevard.
"We had this horrible thing," said Brittany Webb, an Oaks at Marsh View resident. "Had we just gotten a speed bump that we'd been asking for, this could have slowed him down.
Despite three traffic studies, no action has been taken, prompting residents to bring their concerns directly to the town council after a recent near-miss incident.
The residents are hopeful that the town council will take their pleas into consideration and install speed humps to improve road safety.
