On Tuesday, October 14, flights at Kelowna and Victoria airports were delayed due to a cyber security incident.
Public address systems and screens were hacked, displaying pro-Hamas messages at both Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ) between 5 p.m.
"Free Palestine" and cursing out U.S.
The incident reportedly lasted for about two minutes. The YLW team successfully removed the unauthorized messaging and restored flight information display screens.
The City of Kelowna stated that the cyber security incident was limited to a cloud-based third-party software provider.
