Raytheon, a U.S. defense company, is investing $53 million in new production facilities to meet the growing demand for the LTAMDS radar.
The LTAMDS radar is designed to enhance air and missile defense capabilities against hypersonic threats, including Russia's Kinzhal missiles, and operates alongside the Patriot air defense system.
Company representatives told Defense News about the received inquiries and the new production facilities.
The system has recently received approval from the U.S. Army for small-scale production and is still undergoing testing, such as operational testing in real conditions in Guam.
