2025 Rolex Middle Sea Race - The Maltese Spirit
The Rolex Middle Sea Race is a 606-nautical-mile challenge that captures the imagination of sailors worldwide, embodying Malta's maritime heritage and relationship with the sea.
Conceived in Malta in 1968, the race is about adventure, endurance, and camaraderie. The 46th edition starts from Grand Harbour, Valletta on Saturday, 18 October at 1100 CEST, with 118 crews registered, including 13 Maltese teams.
For Maltese sailors, participation is about pride and performance, adding to the nation's seafaring legacy. The Royal Malta Yacht Club (RMYC), tracing its roots to the 1830s, is the heartbeat of local sailing.
The RMYC's founders, including Paul Ripard, John Ripard, Jimmy White, and Alan Green, envisioned racing around Sicily, laying the groundwork for a world-renowned offshore event.
