A Marine Corps AH-1Z Viper helicopter crashed in Southern California, resulting in the death of one pilot and injuring another.
The helicopter, assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369, was on a routine training flight when it suffered an aviation mishap near Imperial Gables, California.
Emergency crews transported one pilot to Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, California, where the Marine was confirmed to have died.
The AH-1Z Viper went down just after 7 p.m. on Thursday evening.
The incident is being investigated by the 3rd Marine Aviation Wing.
