Cuban American Lawmakers Applaud Nobel Peace Prize Win for María Corina Machado
Several Cuban American legislators expressed their joy over the awarding of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, praising her courage and dedication to advancing democracy in Latin America.
"Today marks one of the most rewarding moments of my career. María Corina Machado has won the Nobel Peace Prize, a nomination I shared with my colleagues: Marco Rubio, María Elvira Salazar, and Mario Díaz-Balart—a moment I'll never forget,"
stated Congressman Carlos A. Representative María Elvira Salazar likened Machado to "the Simon Bolivar of our era" and emphasized her role as a symbol of resistance for the entire continent.

she declared.
