A Subaru expert has shared a useful winter weather trick for Subaru owners, particularly those driving newer models on salty streets.

The trick involves a feature that some Subaru owners may not be aware of: a nozzle above the backup camera that releases wiper fluid to clean the lens when it's covered in mud, rock salt, or other substances.

To operate the feature, drivers can simply twist their rear windshield washer and hold it, causing windshield washer fluid to spray out of a separate nozzle over the camera to clean it.
