The US and Ukraine have been in discussions about the possibility of providing Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, following repeated requests from Ukraine.
These discussions come after a fresh wave of Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, as indicated by officials and public statements.
Ukraine's foreign ministry stated that the two sides were in "a very detailed and active discussion about the possibility of providing these missiles,"
as quoted by ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi. President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned a call with US President Donald Trump, describing it as "very positive and productive."
"We discussed opportunities to bolster our air defense, as well as concrete agreements that we are working on to ensure this,"
wrote Zelensky on X, according to a public post. Moscow has reacted strongly to the possibility of Tomahawk transfers.
