A surprise party was thrown for 73-year-old Avanti West Coast employee Mohammed Yousuf, also known as Yousuf, to celebrate his 50th year working on the railway.
Yousuf prepares food in the first-class kitchens onboard the Pendolino fleet, which runs on the West Coast Main Line between Euston and Scotland.
The railway has changed a lot over the years, but it’s the people that make it great.
I don’t plan to stop cooking yet.
My advice to those who wish to join the railway is to give yourself time.
He feels “fortunate to be doing something that I love every day” and has no plans to stop working yet.
