Coca-Cola HBC is set to acquire Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in a $3.4 billion deal.
This acquisition will make Coca-Cola HBC the leading Coca-Cola bottler in Africa, representing two-thirds of the continent's Coca-Cola system volume.
The bottler will become the dominant Coca-Cola force in Africa, representing over 50% of the continent’s population and two-thirds of Africa’s total Coca-Cola system volume.
These offer ‘increased exposure to high growth markets’, with growing populations and economies, as more than 60% of the population in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa are aged under 30.
Coca-Cola HBC will acquire a 75% shareholding in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Pty Ltd from The Coca-Cola Company and Gutsche Family Investments Pty Ltd.
